SUMMARY OF WORK: This position performs law enforcement work geared mainly towards drivers under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and is instrumental in implementing prevention and educational activities of traffic safety code and violations throughout the communities of the Northern Cheyenne Reservation
Knowledge: This position requires considerable knowledge of departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures, applicable tribal, state and federal laws; modern law enforcement principles and practices; arrest procedures and techniques; locations within the reservation boundaries; rights of the accused; rules of evidence; traffic safety codes and speed limits according to the routes residential areas and school areas, rules and regulations, breathalyzer, standardized field sobriety tests, radar, two-way radio communications, a certified technician in child safety seats.
Skills: This position requires skills in the use of firearms, typing, radar unit and two-way radio operations, breathalyzer, departmental vehicles and equipment operation, First Aid, and CPR Techniques.
